  Abiodun mourns Alaba Lawson, says she was a blessing to many Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has described the death of the Iyalode of Yorubaland, Chief (Mrs) Alaba Lawson, as a huge loss to the nation. Abiodun, who said he received the news of the passing of the business magnate, educational entrepreneur and administrator with great shock, said he took solace in the fact that the deceased left huge landmarks across a broad spectrum of the Nigerian landscape and would be remembered for being a blessing to thousands of Nigerians who crossed paths with her. He added that as an epitome of excellence, the late Chief (Mrs) Lawson represented the very best of Nigerian womanhood and was a model to generations of women. Africa's wealthiest individual and Business tycoon, Aliko Dangote, who recently re-entered the exclusive club of the world's top 100 billionaires, has fallen below the $16 billion mark and consequently exited the top 100 world rich list. Data from the Bloomberg Billionaires Index shows a noteworthy $1.6 billion decrease in his net worth, reducing it from $17.4 billion on September 1 to $15.8 billion as at press time. The decline represents a substantial shift in Dangote's financial standing, according to Bloomberg, following a period of remarkable growth from June 25 to September 1 when his net worth had risen from $15.1 billion to $17.4 billion.

Police operatives in Borno State have arrested a banker, Adamu Alhaji Ibrahim, 31, in connection with the m¥rder of his wife, Fatima Alhaji Bukar. The 24-year-old daughter of Bukar Abacha, a Borno House of Assembly member representing Ngala LGA, was str@ngled to d£ath at her residence last Tuesday. EFCC arrests Singer Sanij-D over alleged £9,300 internet fr@ud, others

A Nigerian musician, Aniji Shedrack Chidubem aka Sanij-D, has been arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over alleged internet fr@ud.  The suspect, who was arrested in the Kuje Area Council of Abuja, allegedly defr@uded a Briton, Susan Mclean, the sum of £9,300 and an American: Diana Rosado Gonzalax, the sum of $2,000. He was arrested based on credible intelligence on the activities of a syndicate of internet fr@udsters, EFCC said in a statement on Monday, October 16.  “Chidubem allegedly impersonated one Christopher Rossi, a marine engineer that fixes boats and pipelines in Singapore. He was using Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp applications, with foreign phone numbers, as his fr@udulent means of perpetrating and defr@uding his victims,” the statement reads.
